Information:
The See From Tracing - Genre/Form Term (455 tag) of
the MARC authority record contains a term not used as
a subject access point. This term is linked to the
proper term that can be used as a subject heading.
Many of the subject headings established in the
Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) and
in the Guidelines on Subject Access to Individual
Works of Fiction, Drama, etc. contain variant
terms including these unauthorized terms. The letters
UF (use for) appear at the beginning of the list of
unauthorized terms. Using the 455 tag creates a see
reference taking the person who searches by the
unauthorized term to the correct subject heading.
